September starts out in Manitowish Waters with Consequences by Penelope Lively. I checked on the internet to see how the game of "Consequences" was played. The first few listings were sites from the UK. Sounds very much like the "Life" game. There is a question in the reader's guide about the title. I think Happenstance or Fate might have been more appropriate.
Post-Birthday World by Lionel Shriver is the Boulder Junction book. This was an interesting book and easier to read as soon as I got into the flow of alternating chapters.
We decided we needed a lighter book for Winchester and chose Patty Jane's House of Curl by Lorna Landvik.
