Looks like a month of literary awards. Don't let anyone say we read "fluff" up north. Gabriel Garcia Marquez won the 1982 Nobel Prize for Literature. As stated at the Nobel site, he received the award "for his novels and short stories, in which the fantastic and the realistic are combined in a richly composed world of imagination, reflecting a continent's life and conflicts."Amazon.com described Love in the Time of Cholera as the story of a"turn-of-the century chronicle of a unique love triangle."
