Manitowish Waters -- Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. I found an article in Vanity Fair about playwright Arthur Miller and his son with Down syndrome. The article is quite long and you need to be registered to read it but here is a link to an article from the International Herald with the basic information.
Boulder Junction -- Over The Edge of the World by Laurence Bergreen. I've found a summary of the book. It helped me put key events in order and also helped with remembering people involved in the voyage.
